Chief Fire Officer Amit Dongre, who was caught taking bribe yesterday, has been terminated from service by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. An order terminating Amit Dongre in police custody has been executed. It may be mentioned here that, yesterday, ACB filed a case against Ahmedabad City Chief Fire Officer Amit Dongre and Bhavsingh Jhala, the middleman who accepted bribe on his behalf, and in return for granting NOC of Fire Safety Rs. ACB caught the middleman red-handed on Vijay Char road after accepting a bribe of 36 thousand. The complainant complained to Vadodara ACB and ACB laid a trap and nabbed the middleman. Later, when accused Bhavsingh spoke to Chief Fire Officer Amit Dongre on phone, it was revealed that he also gave his consent regarding the bribe amount. So both were taken into police custody, following which Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has ordered to terminate Amit Dongre with immediate effect.
