Dubai continues to be a major attraction for tourists. Soon, a new feature will be added for both visitors and local residents: the unique experience of walking on 24-karat gold. According to officials from the Dubai Gold District, preparations are underway to open a 24-karat gold walkway—expected to be ready within the next two months, before the end of 2026. As reported by 'Gulf News', this will be the world's first and longest gold walkway. Rashid Al Harmoodi, Senior Commercial Director at the Dubai Gold District, stated that this project will offer a novel tourism experience and further strengthen Dubai's position as a global hub for the gold and jewelry trade. The Dubai Gold District has also witnessed unprecedented growth in the trade of gold and gemstones. Since the beginning of 2026, the number of wholesale gold trading offices has increased by 20 percent. Furthermore, there has been a 15 percent growth in the number of new retail outlets selling gold, jewelry, precious gemstones, and luxury watches.
